Daylilies, Knockout roses (they can be sheared to the height you want, and they bloom all summer), Black-eyed susans, echinacea. For annuals, lantana is good.
Reply:Geraniums, work great, although not often as high as you requested. But they have great foliage, and a multitude of flower colors and shapes.

The would be great for in between the taller flowers you pick.

Calla Lilies or rose bushes, work too. But Roses need a lot more work.

Try visiting your local nursery, and ask for some help, they will know your area, and what does best in your garden.
Reply:I believe roses would be best in that situation. Thay are beutiful, fragrant, come in many varietis and colors and need 6 hours of sunshine a day. The drawback is they need to be protected in the winter.
