I have a start of Jimson weed, for looks only, but don't know if it should be planted in sun, shade or ??

I love the flowers and will not be used for medicinal purpose, just for beauty. Does it matter where I plant?

It is very hardy and likes tons of sun, once established it be very hardy..and can handle heat and very dry conditions. It grows all over our rivers and creeks here in central Texas Hill country...Put it in the sun..they prefer it
Reply:I don't know how to use this site yet, and the other answer I got to my questions is "what thieves" Report It

Reply:water it through the day untill it is established..have you got anything to prop around it for some shade..or is it in pots..move to shade if so and water 2 or 3 times daily for a week..see how it goes from there Report It

Reply:Burglars, actually. Druggies. Report It

Reply:That's the same as Datura or Thorn apple, right? The only places I've ever seen it growing wild have been in full sun with hardly any water available. It's not quite a desert plant, but almost! You're right, the flowers are beautiful, and pungent. But be certain it's only ornamental. I once dried some and put it in a baggie for the 'benefit' of some thieves who liked to come by every now and then.

I haven't had any problems with them since they found it.
