Morning sun mostly for my first tomato plant ever, what should I do?

I bought a fairly large tomato plant this week and plan on planting it in the only place available at my apt. It gets full morning sun and the sun then moves to the bck of the apt. with the front being shaded. It cannot get the 7-9 full hours of direct sunshine I have read about. What should I do? I don't know about plants, this is my first. Will it be ok? Help, I have to plant this week out of the container. Plant is already over 2 ft tall. Should I put potting soil in ground since my dirt does not do well with flowers? I don't have a green thumb but want to grow something.

It won't die, it just won't produce as well as it would with full sun all day. Sure - amending the soil is a great idea.
Reply:2 feet is tall for this time of yaer. git it in a big bucket so's the plant doesnt get root bound. water moderatley. too much and the tomatoes split.
Reply:Ok, you have only one place to put it thats that. When you plant it dig the hole a little deeper, the first one or two sets of leaves at the bottom of the plant should be removed. Just pull them off. When you plant it put part of the stem in the dirt up to one inch. This will help get the plant a better root system.

This is only advice for tomato plants. Also get a good tomato plant ferterlizer and bug spray. You can make your on bug spray with a small amount of dish soap and water. This works will.
Reply:OK go get a 5 gallon plastic bucket, drill several holes in the bottom and put some rocks in 2"and plant the tomato plant as deep as possible with potting soil. Move it where you want to and give it water and miracle grow as needed.
Reply:Miracle Grow and put up some sort of trellis to tie the plant to w/ rags as it grows. The reason to use rags instead of string is, the string will cut through the vine and ruin the plant.
